This is a list of the 11 best fitness apps that I have ever come across. Whether you are looking for a food tracking app, a motivational app, a recipe app, or a workout app, there is something on the list for you!
MyFitnessPal
MyFitnessPal is by far the best food tracking app in my opinion. It is super easy to use with the bar code scanning feature and huge database of foods. You can even add your own foods and recipes! You can upgrade to the premium version in order to set your macros by the gram, which is perfect for people following an if it fits your macros approach. The regular app is free for both android and ios users!
FitMenCook
I have been watching the Fit Men Cook YouTube channel for a few years to get recipe ideas, but this year I downloaded the Fit Men Cook app. Life changing. Kevin Alexander comes out with delicious recipes that don’t make healthy eating feel like a chore. What sets the app apart from the website is the fact that you can create a meal plan, shopping list, and adjust the recipes to the number of servings that you require. This app is currently only available to ios users here. I downloaded it onto my iPad for the perfect kitchen companion!
Calm
This meditation app is one of the best fitness apps because it helps you slow down and connect with yourself. The app contains guided meditations of different lengths so that no matter how crazy your schedule or where you are you can sit and breathe. I love to use the Calm app in the morning, before bed, or just when I feel like everything is going crazy around me. This app is available for both android and ios users.
Sleep Cycle
The sleep cycle app is awesome for letting you know how restful your sleep really is. Are you really getting those eight straight? The Sleep Cycle app also has a built in alarm that gradually wakes you up instead of throwing you into panic mode first thing in the morning. The app will sense when you are in your lightest sleep mode and begin waking you up so you feel refreshed and energized for the day. This app is available for both android and ios users.
Thrive Market
Thrive Market is an online health food store that had discounted prices on all of your favorite healthy staples. From coconut flour to almond butter, you can find your healthy staples and treats on Thrive. I love using the Thrive Market app on my phone because I can add a food to my cart when I think about it, then check out when I am ready. I can even create a shopping list throughout the week so that I don’t forget a thing! This app is available for both android and ios users here.
MyWater
We all know how important it is to get our water in everyday, which is what makes the MyWater app one of the best fitness apps out there. This app not only allows you to track your water intake for the day, but it also alerts you when you haven’t tracked any water. As the sound the alarm makes is quite obvious, you will be rushing to gulp that water down if you haven’t already! This app is available for both android and ios users.
Achievemint
Achievemint will help you reach your fitness goals by bribery, which as we all know is one of the most effective tactics. You can connect apps like Fitbit and MyFitnessPal. As you track food and rack up steps, Achievemint is racking up points that are turned into cash in your pocket. Ten-thousand steps is equivalent to ten dollars. Get paid to get fit! This app is available only for ios users.
Map My Run
I love using the Map My Run app because it allows me to see the progress I make each time I hit the pavement or trail. It tracks your pace per mile, overall time, and distance of the run. Perfect for runners or walkers that want to keep track of their progress! This app is available for both android and ios users.
FitBit
If you are a FitBit wearer, then the FitBit app is an essential piece to your fitness journey. The app not only allows you to see your activity levels, it also lets you track your food and water intake. Simple to use, it is one of the best fitness apps for people just beginning their journey or the seasoned athlete. Being a student, I am stuck at a desk and computer a lot. The FitBit app gets me up and moving! This app is available for both android and ios users.
Yoga Studio
Hands down my absolute favorite yoga app. There are yoga practices for beginner, intermediate, and advanced yogis ranging from ten minutes to sixty. This app truly has something for everyone. I get a yoga practice in with the Yoga Studio app in the morning, after a workout, or before bed! This app is available for both android and ios users.
BodySpace
Bodyspace is the best fitness app for motivation. Every single person using BodySpace is trying to make themselves better through health and fitness. Struggles are shared. Victories and rejoiced. Everyone is supporting everyone else. This app is also great for tracking workouts and keeping track of your measurements! This app is available for both android and ios users.
