I used to HATE protein shake recipes. Why? Because they were so dang complicated. You needed maca powder or 17 different vegetables juiced in order to make some of these “refreshing” protein shakes. YUCK. I barely had yogurt in the house, let alone maca powder. These fruity protein shake recipes are made with less than 5 ingredients each, all of which can easily be found at your local grocery store. So start sippin!

Wrap Up
You have just witnessed my favorite 3 summertime protein shake recipes. All are inexpensive. These shakes are all perfect for post-workout because they are higher in protein/carbs and lower in fat. I also love to use these for my dessert. All you have to do is add more ice to make the shake thicker, kind of like sorbet! These are super refreshing and not thick at all, so you won’t feel bloated or gross drinking them any time of day. If you are a plant based eater, substitute the yogurt for plant based protein powder (vanilla). Maybe you prefer whey protein directly post workout, so sub that in for the yogurt. If you are drinking these shakes right before bed, casein protein isn’t a bad idea as it will help with muscle recovery overnight!
