5 Green Smoothie Recipes to Increase Energy

Are you that girl that really wants to like green smoothies but just gag a the thought? If so, I know exactly where you are at! I hate smoothies that are chunky and taste like dirt. So I created my own green smoothie recipes that actually taste GOOD and give you that shot of micro-nutrients for an energy kick!

Benefits

I notice three big benefits in drinking green smoothies a few times per week.

  1. Increased energy. When our body is getting all of the micro-nutrients it needs along side the right amount of macro-nutrients, we are #winning. When our body gets what it needs, it is able to perform at a higher level.
  2. All the micro-nutrients! I struggle so hard with getting my veggies in because 9/10 times veggies make me feel very bloated. Therefore, I don’t get those micro-nutrients in like I should. I can basically get all my micro-nutrients in for the day by drinking one of these green smoothie recipes!
  3. Keeps ya regular. Honestly I cannot tell you how many of the women I have worked with struggled to see progress because they did not go to the bathroom on a regular basis. If you are not going 1x per day on average, it’s time to get those greens in!

Substitutions

Disclaimer: This girl right here HATES chunky smoothies! Since I hate chunky smoothies, I use a greens powder instead of using actual greens. It really won’t make that much difference. Is it better to use whole food rather than supplements? Of course. However we also have to enjoy our foods, so this is my in between. It works for me.

However, if you don’t mind chunky smoothies then absolutely feel free to swap out the greens powder for 2 cups of your favorite greens like kale, spinach, or romaine!

You can also swap out greek yogurt for the protein powder, or vice versa, in any of the recipes listed! This is your smoothie, so make it the way you like it!

Mean Green Machine

Ingredients

  • 1 serving Amazing Grass Original greens powder
  • 1 chopped green apple
  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 packet stevia
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup chopped pineapple
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt

  • 1 cup frozen berries
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • .5 tsp matcha powder

  • 8ish ounces of water or almond milk
